I have just installed the latest release (on Windows) and it wont launch.
Have tried restarting but with no luck.

Some libraries were updated in the latest version. If Windows has kept any references to the old ones (It shouldn’t, but it does), this can happen.
When it does, a complete uninstall/reinstall should solve the problem:
