I cannot finish the settings for PhoneGap with AS8. Always when I try to select a splash icon the file open window freezes. AppStudio freezes too. When I try to stop Application Development Tool the Taskmanager freezes as well. I often need to restart the PC in order to get rid of the AppStudio windows. After one of my restarts I successfully selected the PhoneGap 1024x1024 icon. So I thought I could now have luck with the splash image. No. The open file window and AS8 froze again. Restart of PC… Attached is the current logfile. No: The upload window froze too, before I could select the logfile.
Can you zip your project folder and send it to me? I’d like to see if the same thing happens on my system. Can you include the logfile too?
Meanwhile I could start the project via the project file in Windows Explorer. This time I was able to add the PhoneGap splash image and everything next worked. I changed restrictions and permissions of the project folders in Windows Explorer too to full access. Cannot remember if before or after the above mentioned successful image load. Will send you the zip and log anyway directly. Could not do it here because file too big.
Next start of AS8 and - just for testing - selecting a PG splash image made file select window and AS hang. Tried similar procedure by starting via the project file. Select splash image hanging and crashed AS 8. No problems with this PC, except when using AS8.
I loaded your project on both Windows and Mac. Uploads to PhoneGap Build worked normally on both.
There is nothing unusual in the log file.
What can I do to see the problem here? Could it be just on your system?
Thanks. As I said, now it is working on my system too.
I suspect (pure phantasy) the reason was that some folders and / or files had access restrictions. After I had changed to full access problems disappeared.

Lots of crashs today when trying to choose a file, sometimes with project file, often when trying to choose a PhoneGap icon or splasch screen. This happened several times today with 8.0.0.3. Then I noticed that there was a new 8.0.1. Same problems with 8.0.1. I am trying to update my 10 or so apps with PhoneGap icons and splash screens. The crashs also occur when I try to choose a PG icon etc. - for testing purposes - where the icon is already set and an .apk is built successfully. Could it be that solely the German version is affected? I noticed that the file picker, if appearing, sometimes is with a header in German, but when I intend to select a PG icon or splash the header is Choose a File.
