AppStudio 9.5.3 released!

AppStudio 9.5.3 has been released! It has some bug fixes and updates to many of the fundamental libraries used by AppStudio.

  1. VoltBuilder Status: Download links fixed.
  2. wxPython updated
  3. Node updated
  4. Electron Build updated (See Breaking Changes)
  5. Electron Desktop: Logging added in electron/electon_debug.log
  6. Updated numerous libraries

Breaking Changes

If you are using Electron, make sure the following versions are set in your projects’ package.json property (Project Properties, in the Electron section):

  "electron": "^44.1.1",
  "electron-builder": "^26.15.3",
  "npm": "^12.0.2"

You can download the new release from within AppStudio or from our site .

On MacOS implementation the electron 44.4.1 is not available, not tried on windows yet.

It’s tested fine on MacOS for us.

Can you try deleting the electron folder and running again?

Message I get …

We’ve tried on a few Macs here now without problems, which makes me wonder if the issue is something on your system.

Can you try a new project, with perhaps only a button on it?

When you create a new project Its project.json is 44.1.1 not 44.4.1 - no problem all good. Thank you.

Aha - there’s the problem. The Breaking Changes section of the release notes was wrong. It should read:

Breaking Changes

Same err again,even after keying ^44.1.1,however…,in package.json,

"appId": "{id}",
"mac" {.....

I’m on windows 11

My guess is Mac appstudio package.json is something like

"build":{
"app id": "{id}",
"win" {.....

@tst - You say “same error again”. What error are you getting? You did not mention any errors earlier in this thread.

1,run electron，not running,I thought it will launch the exe file.
2,create electron exe,no dist folder,hence err
