AppStudio bug - Freezes [Windows 11]

If you try to run “Make Native App with Voltbuilder” while the config window is open it freezes (stuck on loading spinner), therefore I cant close the config window to see the are you sure prompt.

Also i cannot access task manager to shut down Appstudio because the AppStudio config window seems to be stuck in the foreground (so task manager is behind it).

Therefore the only option is to restart the PC.

What do you mean by “config window”?

From the Project Properties side Menu > VoltBuilder > config.xml editor window

I tried this here and it worked fine. Any chance you could send a video of this? Perhaps I’m doing it differently than you are.

Thanks for sending the video. I think I see what is happening.

After “Make Native App with Voltbuilder” is selected, AppStudio comes back with an “Are you sure?” message.

Before that message appears, you open the config.xml edit window, which covers the “Are you sure?” message.

Is that what you are seeing?

As an example, I open the config window to make an edit, then run “Make Native App with Voltbuilder” (while the config window is still open).

It seems the are you sure message pops up but it is probably hidden behind the config window, the curser gets stuck with the loading spinner and I cant click on anything, therefore I cant click the “Close” button on the config window to close it.

I opened my pc’s Task Manager to shutdown AppStudio but the Task Manager window is also hidden behind the config window.

So the only option left is to restart my PC.

In the Windows Task Manager, do you also see a Python app running? Try ending that task.

However, the issue is a real one. We’ll get to work on it.

When the issue occurs I cant see the Task Manager as it is hidden behind the config window.
