Bootstrap 5 Icons not showing on iPhone

Experimenting with the bootstrap 5 controls. Added a bootstrap icon to a button in design environment. Shows up fine there. Once deployed, though, does not show up in the button on the iPhone, looks like just a placeholder there instead.

Thanks

I’ll give that a try here…

Just tried the same thing here - it worked fine.

Are you doing this on a new project, or does your app already have other controls?

Hey George,

Long time no see, man.

It’s a new project. Here’s what I’m seeing:

In the designer the control has the icon assigned as it should. (I’ve used a couple of different ones with same result). Just using the clock one here.

I deploy it to my server and this is what I see.

BTW, as an aside; I’ve decided to spend more time with this thing (I did a few projects a few years ago). Reading through the manuals to really learn how it works. I am, indeed, impressed with it. Nice piece of work!

Are all the controls in your app from the Bootstrap 5 library?

It works fine for me in my iphone. Give mine a try!

Can you send me the link to yours?

Yup, using all BS5. Here’s the link: WWFUtility

Thanks! I can see the problem if I use your link.

Can you zip your project file and send it to support@appstudio.dev? I’m looking forward to seeing what is going on here.

Hey George,

Man, if it ain’t one thing it’s another! Check this out:

… anyway, here’s the ZIP file. Sending it up through the forum.
WWFUtility.appstudio.zip (82.2 KB)

Yeah, it’s one of those days. Ever hear of the Journal of Irreproducible Results?

I tried your app here - it worked perfectly, the icon showing nicely.

Tell me about the computer you are running on.

PS. I just tested sending an email to the support email address. It worked fine.

Heh… yeah, that’s funny. Wish it were still around.

The machine? Take your pick. I’m running on a pretty high-end Dell XPS with a 12th-generation i7.

I’m also running on an M2 MacBook Pro.

Third: I’m running it in a Parallels VM on that same MacBook.

In all 3 cases the icons show up fine when run in the local browser (Edge). It’s only after the project is published to my server on WinHost (gracemessage.com - /nsbasic/ is the folder) that the icons don’t show up.

I thought about this overnight and think the problem is on your server. I’ll close this one for now, but feel free to come back to it if needed.

Yup, it and the issue with SQLite.WASM were both issues with that server and they can’t fix it. (Which I think is BS, to be honest). It’s just an IIS Server.
