Previous question was asked about Apple watches specifically, but can App Studio apps run, or be modified to run on an Android watch?
We haven’t tried this ourselves.
There’s not a lot of documentation about this, which probably means it either works easily or not at all.
There’s a cordova-androidwear plugin which could help, but it has not been updated in a while.
It’s almost 2 years ago this question was asked here - if a watch app kit was available. So this question deserves a timely update. (My searches here for watch app activity came up short.)
I’d like to revive the question but be more specific; Because I think Apple watch will be the first to predominate, which is why I seek this great dev kit to see if it can handle it. I see Apple’s watchOS is up to version 10+.
At some point, programmers will want the opportunity to migrate their apps to this smaller footprint.
Based on some quick research I just did, there is no change on this.
The Apple Watch does not support the WebView control, which is what web apps need to run.
You’ll have to use Swift and Apple’s dev tools (Xcode) at this time.
If you don’t mind, George, can you tell me if the situation has changed with regard to Apple’s WatchOS? Thanks
Nothing has changed - the Apple Watch OS does not have a WebView control.
