Keyboard shortcuts for copy/paste not working

Hi

I find I’m unable to use cmd-c and cmd-v when trying to copy/paste anything in AppStudio on my Mac (running latest version 9.1.7.6). Hitting cmd-c or cmd-v simply does nothing at all. I have to use copy and paste from the right-click dropdown menu.

This happens everywhere - I can’t copy labels or radios or any other objects in the main window, nor text in the Properties windows. I have to right-click and use the menu options everywhere.

And this only happens in AppStudio. If I open any other app or window, the copy/paste keyboard shortcuts work as expected.

I can give you a few more clues which may help. If I copy text (using cmd-c) from another window (I used this webpage for my test), then cmd-v works and I can paste it into a Properties field. If I then try to copy text from a Properties field using cmd-c, the cmd-v then does nothing. However, if I copy text from the Properties field using the right-click menu, then cmd-v will paste that text. Cmd-v doesn’t work when copying objects in the main window using the right-click menu.

Grateful for any feedback as it’s very annoying having to use the right-click menu instead of the keyboard shortcuts.

I am seeing the same here. Next step is for us to download some older versions of AppStudio to see if this is a new issue.

We recently updated the wxPython library - that is a potential cause.

Has there been any update on this?

FYI I’m using AppStudio again now after about a year (maybe more? Time flies) of none use, and I’m pretty sure I was using the keyboard shortcuts the last time I used it, but they definitely worked at some point in the past.

I hope you can fix it soon, because it’s frustrating as I keep on forgetting and instinctively using the keyboard shortcuts and then remember when paste doesn’t work. :roll_eyes:

We actually dug in to this, going back and trying older versions to see if they have the same issue.

Every release we tried from the past 2 years does the same thing.

At this point, I don’t think this was ever implemented. The alternative - do a right click to copy and paste - works fine.
